Working Toward Resilient Landscapes
We work to restore tropical ecosystems and build climate-resilient landscapes through cutting-edge applied science, hands-on restoration, and fostering local leadership. TLC Program is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Costa Rica and the United States, collaborating with partners across Latin America and the tropics.
Our Center for Tropical Restoration Science (CTRS), run with the Organization for Tropical Studies (OTS), offers hands-on training that builds local capacity to restore and steward resilient landscapes.
We take a collaborative approach to applied science, working with universities, nonprofits, and communities to address real-world problems in tropical landscapes and develop practical solutions.
We acquire and restore highly degraded lands, support local restoration efforts, and grow native, rare and endangered tree species at our Loma Linda Field Station in southern Costa Rica.
The Loma Linda Field Station hosts long-term and new research on the ecological and social dimensions of forest restoration. Together with nearby conservation properties covering about 100 hectares, the station offers simple facilities for researchers, students, and training activities.
The station is located in Coto Brus county, in southern Costa Rica.
